Disabling IPv6 on Windows 7 PCs provides no additional security or any other real value to a network. And leaving IPv6 enabled on these PCs enables certain valuable Windows features to work properly. So the bottom line is, don’t disable IPv6 on Windows 7 PCs unless you can justify your decision with a more compelling reason than “But I Jul 10, 2017 · (And yes the internet connection is still working regardless of what Windows says) I’ve wondered if IPv6 is part of the issue. I have IPv6 enabled on the DC and individual PCs so that PCs can receive a local IPv6 address, but IPv6 is disabled on our Firewall so that no IPv6 communications can leave or enter our LAN.
