This may be because, even though it was sold through Net10 and uses Net10 service, it's originally technically an AT&T phone. To my understanding (and I may be a total noob here), the big carrier companies like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc, throttle you when they see you're using too much on their towers.
